OUR STORY

Founded by Two Brothers

A story of two brothers bringing a new kind of travel experience to the heart of Hiriketiya.

THE BEGINNING

In 2023, two brothers from Colombo stumbled upon the pristine shores of Hiriketiya during a surf trip

What started as a simple weekend getaway quickly turned into something much bigger. Drawn in by Hiriketiya’s golden bay, laid-back rhythm, and welcoming community, it was clear this little surf town held something special. But there was something missing , a space where travelers could truly connect with the spirit of Sri Lanka.

Inspired by backpacking experiences and hostels around the world, the vision for Chill Vibes was born. A place that blends comfort with nature, where people from different cultures can meet, share stories, and experience authentic Sri Lankan food, hospitality, and community in a meaningful way.

Built with care and sustainability in mind, Chill Vibes opened its doors in 2024 as one of the first locally founded hostels in Hiriketiya. More than just a stay, it’s a space rooted in community, supporting local families, promoting fair opportunities, and creating a home for travelers to experience the true warmth and culture of Sri Lanka.
